About

I was born and raised in the Columbia River Gorge. From a young age I grew up listening to the Grateful Dead and the Beatles. I started exploring my creativity with music. First I learned how to play the piano and later learned to make music with my guitar. This sense of expression did not prove to be enough, so I progressed to visual arts in photography, while still embracing my love for music.

I bought my first camera when I was twelve, and since then I haven’t been able to stop shooting. My first camera was the Canon Rebel T2i. I shot with the standard lenses for a good five years and recently felt I was ready to move on. I now shoot with my Canon 6D Mark II and my 24-70mm 2.8 Mark II. This has been a huge milestone in my career as a photographer, but I couldn't have learned my skills without my first beater camera. I share my photos on Instagram and find social media to be fairly responsive with how people view my art.

By the way my name is actually Skyler Beard.
